FIA GT2 – Monza – Great race for the AF Corse team
![]() Despite they broke the tape in second place in the GT2 class, Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander (AF Corse - Ferrari F430 team) celebrated the victory in the Monza race. The winners on the track, Collard/Westbrook, had been in fact barred from the table because of a claim. At second place, we find another crew belonging to the team Af Corse: Thomas Biagi and Christian Montanari, always on Ferrari F430. Double victory for Chevrolet in Valencia After a positive series for Seat, just in its home race in Valencia there has been the return of Chevrolet, which won both the rounds. In the round 1, Rob Huff earned the first place, followed by Gabriele Tarquini and Jordi Gené with Seat. In the round 2, Alain Menu won, followed by Robert Huff, both on Chevrolet. In the general table, Gabriele Tarquini ranks first with 36 points, followed by Yvan Muller and Rickard Rydell with 28. Formula Master – Double victory for Chris van der DriftIn the first race of the 2008 season, Chris van der Drift (JD Motorsport team) secured the victory in both races of the weekend on the Valencia track. The Dutch driver, 22 years old, has become in this way the leader of the drivers’ table. ![]() Andretti - Indiana Jones on the IndyCar Series courses On the occasion of the movie “Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull”, the fourth one of this successful saga, which is to come out on 22nd May, Marco Andretti, the driver of the Andretti Green Racing Team, is going to compete in the forthcoming 500 miles Indianapolis race (25th May) wearing a suit prepared by our tailor, recalling the legendary clothes worn by Indiana Jones, played in this movie too by Harrison Ford. OMP at the 56th Historical Inter-European Cup – Monza 6th-8th June 2008A world tour has been organized in Monza to the celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Formula Junior Category, where great drivers like Jim Clark, Jack Brabham and many more moved their first steps, between 1958 and 1963, until the creation of Formula 3. The most important moment of the tour will take place on the occasion of the 56th Historical Inter – European Cup. The event will feature races with single seaters belonging to the F1, Sport, Prototypes, F.Junior, GT, GTS categories; the public will also admire hundreds of historical cars in the paddock of the Monza circuit. Among the sponsors, we wish to thank the Scuderia del Portello, OMP partner for many years, which has invited us to participate in the event with our stand. A partnership with Beta Utensili will also allow us to organize at the same time an historical exhibition called “Memorabilia F1”. Inside the famous “Beta” stand inside the paddock, together with the helmets of many F1 champions (private Beta Collection), visitors will find the complete suits collection of some F1 champions produced by OMP since 1984. |
